The
Bloodys by Buz Story
After 30 years of making bloody marys for friends and much
prodding from satisfied palates wanting more, Buz finally
bottled it and it is now available. Combining flavors of the
sea and range with the perfect blend of spice and sweetness,
Bloodys by Buz creates a flavor that embraces the gourmet
palate.
However, that is not the whole story. As Buz tells it, "I
never had a recipe, only a concept. The mix was always great,
but it was never the same. I always had a base of tomato juice
or a vegetable drink; then I started adding the same kind
of ingredients that has made Bloodys by Buz so special
and add whatever was in the house until it was tasty."
When the decision was made to go forward with a commercial
product in 2003, Buz tells his tale, "I did what most
would do. I talked to as many people in the business to find
the keys to success, both from a product quality perspective
as well as the keys to a commercial success." Buz went
on, "After a few months of research, we had everything
but a proven recipe. That was really painful and frustrating
for me," he winced. "It took two months to fine-tune
a recipe. I had no problems with the ingredients, but putting
them together in a quantity that could be translated and extrapolated
by a processor to a large volume batch was a nightmare. Finally,
after two months, we thought we had it right. Several tastings
provided the positive feedback and proof we needed to say
'it's a wrap' and we were on our way. Truly, A Bold
Adventure for the Gourmet Palate."
Message from Buz
The Bloodys by Buz story would not be complete without
recognizing those friends and relatives who believed in what
we are doing, and demonstrated that belief through the provision
of support of all types. Without them, this would not have
been possible. Thank you. You know who you are.
